Let’s get ready to rumble – Sign Up for the 4th Hospice Midnight Walk

Following the success of last years Hospice Midnight Walk, the Southern Area Hospice are once again organising a fun filled Midnight Walk on Saturday 25th August 2012. This exciting event will kick off at Sculpt Fitness in Carnbane Industrial Estate, where it is hoped a sea of supporters will flood the venue in support of Southern Area Hospice. Sculpt staff will be on hand on the night to warm up walkers before they set off with music and craic from 11pm.
Joint proprietor of Sculpt, Geraldine McAleenan said, “We are delighted to be involved in the Midnight Walk this year. I know the craic will be great, the walkers will be full of energy after the warm up and it’ll be really good fun. I think it’s an enjoyable and novel way of raising vital funds for such a worthy cause.”
The 10km route around Newry City has been designed to be a fun and easy way for everyone to raise money. The registration fee is £10 for this fun filled and historic event, and participants are asked to raise minimum sponsorship of £50 individually, or £30 each if part of a group.
The event is proudly supported by A1 Safety and WorkWear, Newry who will be providing each participant with a high visibility jacket on the night, which they can wear after the event, when they are training for the next Midnight Walk!
The event is open to Men and Women of all fitness abilities. Under 16’s must be accompanied by an adult. Why not dress up for the event? The wackier the better!! So get your family, friends and work colleagues involved. Participants can also choose to do the walk in memory of a loved one.
Speaking to Newry Times, Majella Gollogly, Hospice fundraising manager said: “The Midnight Walk was a great event for us last year, and we’re hoping it will be a big success again this year. We would love to see as many people as possible turn out this year, in aid of Southern Area Hospice. We are inviting everyone to lace up, and take the Midnight Walk in their stride!”

Each participant must register before Friday 17th August 2012. There will be no registration on the night.
