‘Crooked Lake Triathalon a sporting and community success’ – McGinn
The Crooked Lake Triathlon, which took place at Camloch Lake last Saturday, has proved once again to be another memorable day of sporting challenges and community involvement.
Local Sinn Féin Councillor, Pat McGinn who completed the course in a time which he reckoned “unfortunately won’t be good enough to get me into the London Olympics” said that nearly 580 competitors and over one thousand spectators enjoyed the tough Triathlon challenge in a safe and sporting environment.
Speaking of the event, McGinn said, “It was a great day here once again, people from throughout this island and from all traditions enjoyed and at times endured the swim, cycle and run that this Crooked Lake Triathlon demands.”
McGinn come came in 469th in the triathlon and said, “My colleagues Conor Murphy MP and Cllr Turlough Murphy finished ahead of me but to be fair they were there on the line to welcome me home.”
