16 year old suffers broken jaw after Warrenpoint assault

Police in Kilkeel are investigating an assault in the Warrenpoint area in the early hours of Monday 28th May. Some time between 2am and 3am a 16 year old boy was assaulted and he was taken to hospital with a broken jaw. The assailant is described as being in his mid twenties with short dark hair and of a stocky build. A number of witnesses, both male and female, were in the area at the time of the assault, and are believed to know the identity of the suspect. Police are asking anyone who witnessed the incident to contact them at Kilkeel on 0845 600 8000.  Information can also be passed anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
