SDLP South Down MLA Karen McKevitt said that Minister Kennedy had responded to her request to extend the car parking facilities at the Sheepbridge and Derrycraw, Park’n Share locations. Investigations confirmed that there is a requirement for almost twice as many vehicles as can be catered for and to expand and complete both locations it will cost close to £100,000. Karen said, “Whilst the minister confirmed there was no budget for the improvements at present, he has agreed to develop the Park’n Share proposals so as to be ready should future funding opportunities arise.” She added, “I am pleased that the proposals will be worked up and planned for, and collectively we must ensure the schemes are delivered upon. I will continue to actively pursue this matter.”
