Corcreechey Road Application Refused

Fews area Sinn Fein Councillor Pat McGinn has commented on the news that Planning Service were recommending that the application for change of use, on the controversial site formerly used as a compound on the Corcreechey Road, should be refused.

McGinn said that he believed most local residents would see this as the correct decision. “It is unfortunate that it has taken so long to get to even this point. The site used by Lagan Ferrovial as a compound for the work they were doing on the new Bypass development should have been cleared and restored as stated clearly when all this was agreed.”

He added, “Planning Procedure allows the right of appeal, so by no accounts do I believe is this issue settled.”

The Refusal decision will be presented to the Council’s Planning Committee Meeting on 7 June 2012.
