Craobh Rua Camlocha Hurling Club Notes

Armagh: The Craobh Rua Hurling Club Camlocha wish to congratulate the Armagh senior hurling team on their terrific Nicky Rackard Cup semi final victory over Roscommon. Our County now face Louth in the final of this competition in two weeks time and Craobh Rua are organising a Bus to the game. We are very proud of the fact that Fiachra Bradley, Ryan Lewis and Michael Garvey have been involved in the County’s successful run in the Rackard Cup and we hope that many in our Club will travel to Croke Park on the day to support the team.

Senior\Minor: The annual Cycle from our Clubrooms to Thurles on the weekend of the Munster Senior Hurling Final is currently being finalised. Any senior or minor player wishing to participate in the event which leaves Camloch on Saturday the 14th of July arriving in Thurles on Sunday the 15th should contact Miceal Bradley the event coordinator. Our seniors face Killeavy this Tuesday evening. Training continues on Thursday evenings and all Minors should endeavor to attend this training session.

Ulster Selection: Under 16 player Joe O Connor has been selected for the Ulster team and Craobh Rua congratulate the talented young hurler, who also lines out for our minor team, on his achievement.

Under 8\10: Our Under 8 and 10 yrs old teams had a great day at the latest Hurling Blitz on Sunday past. Many thanks to all who helped make the Blitz held in Armagh such a success. Well done to all our young hurlers on their excellent sporting and skillful displays. Played in perfect May conditions at the Sherry’s field Craobh Rua young hurlers acquitted themselves very well against Derrynoose, Keady and host club Cuchulainn’s.  Young Brian Watters performed heroically in goals making some geat saves, while Eoghan Rush and Patrick McVerry were strong in midfield. Others who played their part were young Eoin McClean, Darren Beattie, Conor Corrigan, Kevin Doyle and Liam O’Brien. Training continues each Monday evening at 7pm.

Under 12: Our Under 12 team continue to show great determination and commitment. Weekly Training continues and all players will be kept informed of game and coaching session arrangements.

Annual Sponsored Walk: The clubs annual sponsored walk will take place on Sunday 17th June for under 8-10 and 12s. Sponsor cards will be available to all our underage players at their training.
