Work on new Warrenpoint footpath welcomed

Sinn Féin MLA Caitriona Ruane has welcomed the news that a new stretch of footpath will be built along the Milltown Street from Donaghaguy Road to the local supermarket.

Speaking to Newry Times, Ms Ruane said, “It is important for the safety of road users and pedestrians alike that we ensure that busy routes are properly maintained to the highest standard possible. This roadway is widely used by many people including children so a new footpath is essential if we are to protect those walking along the roadway.”

She added, “Myself and Councillor Peter Kearney have campaigned for this footpath and although it will take some time before it is completed I welcome the beginning of the process to have it installed.”
