Local community invited to help with Newcastle beach clean-up
Alliance Newcastle Councillor Patrick is encouraging people to take part in the Beach clean-up in Newcastle which is being organised by Northern Ireland Water on Saturday 26th May at 10.00am.
Members of the public are being asked to assemble at the entrance to the Slieve Donard Hotel in the Downs Road car park beside the Percy French. Litter picking equipment will be available including litter pickers, jackets, gloves, bags and a risk assessment will be carried out.
Speaking about the clean-up, Clarke stated, “We can all play our part by caring for the environment and also helping to clean up Newcastle beach by coming along and helping to collect any rubbish. The beach clean up is a great way for members of the public to participate in helping to collect rubbish which has been left or washed ashore by the incoming tide.”
Hoping for a great turn-out, Clarke added, “I would encourage as many people who care about Newcastle beach to drop by and lend a hand for a few hours on Saturday and to help with litter picking and at the same time make a huge difference through cleaning up Newcastle beach.”
