Coca Cola has announced that it will bring General Fiasco, one of the UK’s most exciting indie rock bands back home to Northern Ireland for a series of spectacular Evening Celebrations along the route of the London 2012 Olympic Torch Relay.

Coca-Cola, a Presenting Partner of the Olympic Torch Relay, is working with the London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) and host Local Authorities to give thousands more people across the country the chance to move to the beat of London 2012.

The Mayor of Newry and Mourne District Council, Councillor Charlie Casey spoke to Newry Times and said,

“I am delighted to announce that General Fiasco will be headlining the fantastic free concert in Park Esler on Tuesday 5th June, which has been organized to welcome the Olympic Torch to Newry. Along with General Fiasco will be a host of other local artistes at what promises to be an exciting extravaganza of music and dance. Newry is one of only four Evening Celebrations in the North and I would invite everyone to bring family and friends to Park Esler to celebrate the inspirational Future Flames who will have carried the Olympic Flame through Newry.”

The concert at Park Esler is a ticketed event, details of which will be announced in the near future.
