Council issues recall warning to residents over carbon monoxide alarm

Newry and Mourne’s Environmental Health Department are this week asking consumers who may have purchased a carbon monoxide alarm produced by Sensor Safe Ltd, with the model number SF80190, to stop using it immediately and return it to the place of purchase.

The Newry & Mourne Council’s District Environmental Health Officer Aoibheann Downey explained, “Sensor Safe Ltd has brought to our attention a potential safety issue with their carbon monoxide alarm SF80190. Recent test results have confirmed that this alarm may not detect certain levels of carbon monoxide and as a result it has been taken off sale. All existing stock has been quarantined and we are issuing an appeal to the general public to return any recently purchased alarms, with this model number, to the place of purchase”.

Anyone who requires further information about the recall can contact the Environmental Health Department directly on 028 3031 3100.
