Man convicted of benefit fraud is fined
A man has been convicted of benefit fraud this week at Newry Magistrates’ Court. The man was convicted after having claimed benefits he was not entitled to.
The 38 year old from Blaney Crescent was fined £150 and ordered to pay court costs of £22 for wrongful encashment of Job Seekers Allowance totalling £222.
The man is also required to repay any outstanding money wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.
