Councillor appeals to young people to stay off Meigh housing sites

The south Armagh village of Meigh

Sinn Féin councillor Packie McDonald has appealed to young people in the Meigh area to stay off unfinished housing sites following a recent serious injury.

He said, “I have heard of one child who recently fell from scaffolding on a building site and sustained quite a serious injury from the fall. For their own safety young people should play in other, safer areas. I would also request that their parents speak to them about the dangers of going onto building sites.”

In conclusion the councillor commented, “In addition there has been some vandalism at the Tobar Blinne housing development and I would ask those responsible to leave these properties alone as again they are risking their own health and they make life even more difficult for the site owner.”
