Lady mugged by two men on Crieve Road

Police in Newry are appealing for information following the report of a robbery in the Monks Hill Road area on Thursday 5th April.

A woman was walking her dog towards the Crieve Road between 8 and 8.30pm on the Thursday evening when a small red car with two men inside stopped beside her. The passenger then got out of the car, threatened the woman and snatched her handbag. Both men then made off in the car. The driver was described as being in his forties whilst the passenger was in his thirties.

Police would ask anyone that was in the area at the time and may have noticed anything suspicious or anyone with any information about this incident to contact them in Newry on 0845 600 8000. Or, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.
