Letters to the Editor: Anger at lack of children’s play areas

Letter to the Editor, from Barry Kelland

I am writing to Newry Times to say that it is a disgrace for the Commons Way, Carnagh Park, Toragh Park, Carlingford Park and Sean O’Neill Park residents that there isn’t a play park in the area for any of the children to play. At the back of Commons way there is a big playing field lying there doing nothing, a set of goalposts are the only thing in the field.

Could the council not put a play park there for the children with a fence around it? It seems we’re missing out; Altnaveigh, Derrybeg, Barcroft, to name a few have brilliant play parks. I am just hoping somebody from the council can read this and give a reason to us residents why they wont put a play park in this area.  Hope you’s can help us out thanks.
