Police confirm body discovered near Kilkeel is that of a woman

Police have confirmed that the body discovered near Kilkeel on Saturday is that of a woman.

Newry Times reported on Saturday that a body had been discovered in the area. The woman’s body was found in a car at Spelga Dam in the Mourne Mountains. Forensic investigators were at the seen shortly after the discovery and a police investigation is on going.

Police have also said that at this stage they do not believe the death was suspicious. A post mortem will be carried out later this week.
