Huge turn-out for Cloghogue Captain’s Drive-In
There was a bumper crowd at Cloghogue as Eamon McAnuff and Catherine McAnulty kick started the year with the annual scramble competition.
There was plenty of fine scoring as conditions where perfect, and that was evident in the amount of birdies on the scorecards. The early running was made by the team consisting off Declan McConville, Ann McCartan and the lady captain herself Catherine McAnulty as they posted a brilliant score of 12 under par but that was then to be matched by the team of Ronan Hollywood, Alice Rice and Ann Jackson. So after much deliberation in counting the scores it went down to the back six to separate the two teams. As Ronan and his lady’s had birdied the last six, they clinched the victory and snatched it from what would have been the perfect day for our new Lady Captain.
There will be weekend competitions run over the sat/sun 24th/26th and 31st/1st and the gents and ladies competitions will begin on the 3rd/4th.
