Ballymartin GAC, club news and events – 20th February
The club and committee would like to send their condolences to the extended family circle of Danny Cunningham on the sudden death of his wife. The family are greatly involved in many aspects of Ballymartin GAC. May she Rest in Pease.
Club membership is now due for 2012. Payment and membership forms should be submitted to Club Registrar Liam Byrne, as soon as possible. There will be a chance to register on Thursday 25th February in Ballymartin Inn.
Seniors had their first win of the season with their first challenge match against Newry Shamrocks, winning 1-14 vs. 1-10. A great all-round performance, players who caught the eye were; Martin Quinn, Conor O’Hare, Darren O’Hanlon, Cathal Doyle, Ryan McCullagh. Well done to both the coach and the lads whom have worked very hard.
All lotto ticket sellers for Ballymartin GAC are invited To a buffet supper 9pm – 10pm in Ballymartin Inn on Saturday 25th February 2012 followed by entertainment from – TINY.
Parent information & introduction night; there will be an information night for parents/guardians of all new and current underage players’ boys & girls up to 18 in the club rooms at Pats Road on Thursday night 23rd February at 7:30pm. The main point of the night will be to inform the parent(s)/guardians of the playing and training arrangements for the forthcoming season and to answer any concerns that parents may have. Due to the development work that is currently taking place at Pats Road the training for the under age of the club will take place at a number of different venues.
On the night parents/guardians will also be able to meet the managers and mentors of the underage teams for the year ahead. There will also be new club merchandise which includes polo shirts hoodies etc. on display; parents/guardians will be able to view/order the new club gear on the night. The information night will be another opportunity for any player to register as a club member, it is essential that this registration is undertaken to enable your child to take part in club activities for the season ahead.
Coaching the Coach training information; where will be another coaching session for all the underage coaches in the club on Sunday 26th February at 12:30pm at St. Colman’s Kilkeel.

Ballymartin Community Youth Club on Sunday 19 February 2012
An enjoyable evening was had by the secondary school group who travelled to Belfast on Thursday evening; where they visited both the Islamic and Jewish Community Centres in Belfast.This week they will be involved in a ‘Graffiti Art’ session at the youth club (parents/guardians please understand that there may be paints involved on Friday and that the children should not be wearing their best clothing). This session will be at the EARLIER time of 5pm – 7pm. The Primary school session as normal 7pm – 8.30pm. ‘arts, crafts and jewellery making’ or just chill out time.
Anyone interested in taking part in the Y Factor on Tuesday 28th (in JIMS), please let us know at this Friday nights session.
