Suspect arrested after Carnagat van break-in

Police in Newry are investigating an incident which occurred in the Carnagat Cottages area last night, Thursday 2nd February. Around 11pm police received a report of a van being broken into and a sum of cash taken. Officers attended and a 17 year old male was arrested. A subsequent search was conducted in the Carnagat area and a small amount of herbal cannabis was seized. The male remains in custody assisting police with their enquiries. Police would appeal to anyone with information in relation to this incident to contact them on 0845 600 8000.
