The annual Newry and Mourne Neighbourhood Watch Coordinator Event took place at Newry and Mourne District Council Offices in December.
Neighbourhood Watch Coordinators from across the local area came together with local police, Newry District Policing Partnership and Community Safety Partnership. Several new scheme coordinators also attended.
The evening allowed coordinators to share information about progress and developments in their individual areas and speak to those present about projects, initiatives and schemes that are currently ongoing. Sergeant Walker, E District’s Police Service Neighbourhood Watch Link officer, said: “This was a very well attended evening and provided a great opportunity for coordinators to mingle and share good practice.”
He added, “Neighbourhood Watch in Newry and Mourne has grown considerably over the last three years as a result of clear partnership working between local police and residents.”
