Environmental Improvement Scheme for Newry set to start this month

Newry is set for an Environmental Improvement Scheme which aims to improve areas such as Hill Street and Monaghan Street. The scheme will begin in January and run until May 2012.

The work will improve the area by installing new kerbing, paving, street furniture and tree planting, as well as new decorative street lighting.

Following the Appointment of a Contractor, an open evening has been arranged for Thursday 26th January 2012 in the Sean Hollywood Arts Centre, Newry. The Contractor and Consultants will be available from 6pm-8pm to outline the proposed Street Works Programme. The Council is encouraging traders and residents from the affected streets to come along to the evening.

Traders and residents in affected areas will also be notified when work is due to start with their sections of the street.
