Glen Road to be closed for eleven days

Fews Area Councillor Pat McGinn has reminded all those residents and users of the Glen Road (C229) that Roads Service will be prohibiting the use of the road from its junction with the A28 Belfast Road to its junction with U6075 Sheepbridge Road from Monday 30th of January to Friday 10th February 2012.

Speaking to Newry Times, the Sinn Fein councillor said, “Roads Service inform me that the closure is in relation to structures works by Roads Service and they advise that the alternative route for through traffic will be Belfast Road, Corcreechey Road and Sheepbridge Road. I would hope that any inconvenience caused will be as minimal as practically possible.” The Sinn Fein elected representative concluded by urging all motorists using the road to drive safely.
