Armed robbery suspects released on bail

The 30 and 44 year old men arrested on suspicion of armed robbery by detectives investigating an incident in Newtownhamilton on Saturday 14th January have been released on police bail pending further police enquiries. Detectives in Newry arrested the two men following an armed robbery in the Dundalk Street area of Newtownhamilton. Newry Times reported earlier that a woman was threatened in the Dundalk Street area of Newtownhamilton at lunch time on Saturday. The woman was walking past a parked car with three men inside. One of the men then asked her for assistance. When she approached the car she was threatened with a suspected firearm and told to hand over money by the man in the passenger seat. A sum of money was handed over and the car made off in the direction of Armagh.
