Arrests made following Newtownhamilton robbery
Detectives in Newry investigating an incident in Newtownhamilton on Saturday 14th January have arrested two men on suspicion of armed robbery.
Newry Times reported earlier that a woman was threatened in the Dundalk Street area of Newtownhamilton at lunch time yesterday. The woman was walking past a parked car with three men inside. One of the men then asked her for assistance. When she approached the car she was threatened with a suspected firearm and told to hand over money by the man in the passenger seat. A sum of money was handed over and the car made off in the direction of Armagh.
The men, aged 30 and 44, are currently in custody helping police with their enquiries.
