A group of those who participated in the New Years Day Dip at Camloch Lake to raise funds for and awareness of the work of Womens Aid and Cuan Mhuire

Camloch Lake was the setting for a New Years Day Fund Raising “Dip” which helped raise funds for Women’s Aid Newry, Mourne, South Down and South Armagh and Cuan Mhuire.  Amongst the “dippers” was local Councillor Pat Mc Ginn who praised all those who had attended the event. Speaking to Newry Times he enthused, “Well done in particular to all those staff and volunteers from Womens Aid who took part in the Dip and came along to cheer on those of us taking the plunge.” Women’s Aid Resource Centre welcomes all women and children regardless of age, race, religion, disability, sexual orientation, political status or marital status. They provide information and support, both emotional and practical, to women and children who are or have been suffering from domestic violence. Anyone experiencing domestic violence can access support by calling the 24hr Domestic Violence Helpline on 0800 917 1414. Anyone wishing to make a donation to Women’s Aid can contact 02830250765.
