Police in Newry have urged witnesses to come forward after the PSNI revealed they are looking to question two men in connection with two armed robberies on Tuesday night. Two masked men, one armed with a hatchet, forced staff to hand over money from an off-licence on the Forkhill Road in Newry just after 8:30pm.

Two men, one again carrying a hatchet, burgled a shop on Main Street, Forkhill, stealing money and cigarettes just after 10:15pm. No-one was injured in the robberies, but staff were left badly shaken. The police can be contacted on 0845 600 8000.
