Ireland fans learn their fate
Ireland fans throughout Newry are reacting to the Euro 2012 draw, which a lot will argue isn’t good news. Ireland have been drawn in Group C alongside Italy, Croatia and world champions Spain.
Trapattoni’s men will begin their campaign against Croatia in Poznan, Poland on the 10th of June 2012. They will then travel north to Gdansk on the 14th of June to meet their second and toughest opponent Spain before returning to Poznan on the 18th of June to complete their run in the group stages against Italy, a side that manager Giovanni Trapattoni will be more than familar with.
Irish fans in Newry will join thousands of others from across Ireland in making the journey East in what is set to be a memorable summer regardless of whether Ireland make it beyond the groups stages. Those remaining in Newry will no doubt enjoy the party atmosphere that will engulf the city in June.
