New H&M store in Quays receives warm reception
International store H&M opened its first Newry store in The Quays shopping centre last week. A hugely popular high street and online brand, H&M is known for providing its customers with the latest fashion trends at affordable prices without having to compromise on quality. The Newry store will carry H&M collections for women, teen girls and children and has been proving to be a massive hit in the city already.
Speaking to Newry Times, Laura Maggs of H&M stated that the opening was a great success, “We had a great turnout with over one hundred customers waiting in the queue before the store opened! We have been delighted by the warm reception that we have received since the opening from local shoppers, who seem to appreciate our business concept of fashion and quality at the best price.”
The first one hundred shoppers were also lucky enough to receive gift cards to spend in store, with amounts on them ranging from £5- £50 to spend in store. H&M has been in the press recently for its latest collaboration with the Italian design house Versace with the “Iconic Collection”, providing yet again a high street solution for high end fashions. In the past it has also worked alongside celebrity names such as Kylie Minogue, Madonna, French design house Lavin and shoe designer Jimmy Choo.
The Newry H&M store is one of only six stores throughout Northern Ireland. It will employ approximately twenty staff in both full time and part time positions. This location of the store in Newry, again highlights that Newry is the place to be when it comes to shopping.
