Newry MLA welcomes ‘modernisation of licensing laws’

Sinn Féin’s spokesperson on Culture, Arts and Sports, Sinead Ennis MLA, has welcomed the announcement from the Minister for Communities on the reform of liquor licensing legislation.

Speaking to Newry Times, Sinead Ennis said, “This is another important step for the hospitality sector.

 

 

“It is extremely timely as the industry begins to emerge from lockdown.

“It is an important move towards the modernisation of Liquor Licencing legislation in the north.

“This will benefit the economy.

“It will improve the north’s tourism offering in the time ahead.

“I look forward to its progress through the Assembly.

 

 

She added, “I will engage proactively on the issues at both Committee and Assembly level to ensure its successful completion.”
