Life & Time to welcome Professor Max Watson to Warrenpoint
Life & Time, the new charity set up to deliver extra end of life care to people in the Rostrevor, Warrenpoint and Burren region, is to officially launch the service at a special event on Tuesday 26 March in Warrenpoint Town Hall at 7.30pm.
After almost a year since the concept of a community-driven, end-of-life service was proposed through a series of open meetings in Rostrevor, Warrenpoint and Burren; Life & Time now has nurses on the ground providing additional end-of-life support in the community.
Life & Time Director and retired GP, Dr. Henry McLaughlin said he was thrilled to welcome Professor Max Watson as guest speaker at the event.
“Professor Watson is a published author and eminent palliative care clinician; a Director of Project ECHO (Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes) at Hospice UK in London; the former Medical Director of the Northern Ireland Hospice; visiting Professor at the University of Ulster; Palliative care consultant with Western Trust and chair of the RCGP (NI) End of Life Care Committee.
“We are delighted that Professor Watson, a foremost authority in palliative care and author of key texts of Palliative care can join us at the official launch of Life & Time,” Dr. McLaughlin added.
The event is free to attend and local community representatives, GPS, Palliative Care Nurses and those with an interest in End of Life care are invited to attend the launch in the Town Hall on Tuesday 26 March at 7.30pm.
