Appeal for information after burglary

Police investigating the report of a burglary in the Mullaghbawn area are appealing for information.

Speaking to Newry Times, Constable Karl Smith said, “We received a report shortly before 8am on Monday 17 September of a burglary at a property in the Aughanduff Road area.

“It was reported that entry was forced sometime between 9am on Saturday 16 September and 7am the next day.

“A number of items, some still in their boxes, were reported stolen including a Stanley multi-fuel burner and Ancills; a Vortex oil burner; 15 radiators, four toilets and hand basins, 10 boxes of semi solid wooden flooring and 30 boxes of laminate flooring.

“I want to appeal to anyone who was in the area around this time and saw any suspicious activity, or any strange vehicles in the area, to get in touch.

“I would also appeal to anyone who is offered for sale any items similar to those reported stolen to contact police in Newtownhamilton on the non emergency number 101, quoting reference number 250 of 17/09/18.

“Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime,” he added.
