Newry City Sinn Féin Councillor Valerie Harte has welcomed the placing of road markings by Transport NI at the Abbey Yard Junction in a development she says will help alleviate some of the problems currently being experienced by residents and motorists there.

“I share the delight of many that Transport NI, after a lengthy period of lobbying by local elected representatives, are putting in vital road markings at Abbey Yard.

“We have for a long time  highlighted the need for traffic management measures within this area so hopefully this will go some way in alleviating the problems at this junction for both residents and motorists.”

The Newry Councillor added, “I will continue to highlight with Transport NI those other areas in our City which would benefit from this and other types of traffic management.”
