Local businesses celebrated at Ulster Tatler Awards
Local businesses picked up prestigious awards at this year’s Ulster Tatler Awards.
Bridgeen King Hair from Castlewellan was awarded the prize for Hairdressing Salon of the Year.
Furthermore, ‘spud connoisseur’ Jack Hamilton of Mash Direct, was honoured in the Business Man of the Year category.
Other big winners on the night included stars of sport and screen as Belfast – born playwright Marie Jones picked up the Lifetime Achievement Award and current Irish and Ulster rugby captain Rory Best was awarded Sportsperson of the Year.
Line of Duty actor Adrian Dunbar was a popular winner as he was named Celebrity of the Year, alongside ex-Ulster rugby legend Ruan Pienaar who was awarded a Special Merit Award for his commitment to Ulster Rugby and Northern Ireland.
Due to other commitments Dunbar and Pienaar were unable to attend the ceremony, but thanked the Ulster Tatler through recorded video messages played to the Great Hall on the night.
Ulster Tatler editor Chris Sherry hailed the success of the event. “Every year the award shortlists are packed with deserving individuals and businesses throughout Northern Ireland, highlighting the sheer breadth of talent across the country. The judges faced difficult choices in every category, so congratulations to each and every winner.
He added, “As we wrap up another sell-out show, I’d personally like to thank everybody for all of their votes and for their continued support, especially as this year marked the 10th anniversary of the awards.”
