Two girls assaulted in Newry by group of males

Police in Newry are appealing for information following an assault in the vicinity of the Quays Shopping Centre on Monday, 14th August.

Speaking to Newry Times, Sergeant Gibson said, “Police received reports that between 9:00 and 9:30pm in the area of Quays Shopping Centre car park towards the Drumalane side, two girls were assaulted by a group of 11 males who threw a bottle of bleach at them.”






He added, “I would ask that anyone with information contact police at Ardmore on 101 quoting ref 1269 14/8/17, or if you wish to remain anonymous Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”

It is believed that the victims received no serious injuries as a result of the bleach being thrown at them.
