Camlough home owners left badly shaken during burglary

Detectives are appealing for information following the report of a burglary at a house located in the Church Rock area of Camlough.

Speaking to Newry Times, Detective Constable McCartan said, “It was reported that between the hours of 10:00pm and 10:30pm hours Saturday 24th June 2017, a male described as being in his 30’s, of a slim build, with dark hair and wearing a denim jacket gained entry to a house in the Church Rock area of Camlough via a bedroom window.

“The male suspect was then disturbed by the home owners and made off with several bank cards and a sum of money.

“The home owners were not injured as a result of the break in but were left badly shaken.

“We are appealing to anyone that may have any information, in particular we are appealing to anyone that may have witnessed a suspicious black hatchback car or the male suspect in the area at the time to contact detectives at Ardmore Police Station on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 1404 of 24/06/17.

He added, “Or, alternatively if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
