Local car owners urged to be vigilant after recent incidents

theft3Slieve Gullion Sinn Féin Councillor Mickey Larkin has urged car owners to take steps to ensure their vehicles are secure and protected from theft.

His warning comes following a recent incident in Dromintee.


 

The local representative explained, “Around 3am a resident was awakened by the alarm on their vehicle sounding. On investigating it appears that an attempt to break into the 4×4 through the rear door was unsuccessful.

Go For It March 2017“One person wearing a hoody was seen leaving the area. On the same night two jeeps were stolen at Tassagh.


 

“Although there may be no connection between these incidents it is a reminder to us all that criminals are operating in this area.”

25th March 2017 Box AdvertHe concluded by urging all to be vigilant. “I would encourage people to remain vigilant and ensure that these thieves are thwarted in their efforts to take that which people have worked hard to acquire.”
