Newry Councillor criticises DUP role in RHI scandal

ennis7Local Councillor Sinéad Ennis has sharply criticised the role of the DUP in the RHI scandal, as she described ‘further revelations emerge of close connections between between beneficiaries and the party’. Speaking while canvassing in Mayobridge, Cllr. Ennis said, “There is no doubt in the minds of people I have been speaking with that the DUP created the RHI scandal.

Jan End 2017“On-going revelations of DUP connections to those who are benefiting from this flawed scheme continue to raise questions about why this scheme was kept open for so long. “The DUP has failed to deal credibly with the RHI scandal. Their on-going arrogance, disrespect towards significant sections of our society and their failure to accept equality, have turned the RHI scandal into a political crisis.
She added, “The DUP’s one sided approach to government – as shown by the disgraceful Líofa decision – is not acceptable to the vast majority of people in South Down. It is not acceptable to Sinn Féin. It’s time to stand up for integrity, respect and equality.”
