Possible link between two Newry burglaries

Detectives are investigating two burglaries of residential properties in the Newry area last week. psni44It was reported that sometime between Sunday 21st August and Tuesday 23rd August a house in the New Line area of Drumintee was entered and a number of items of jewellery stolen. It was also reported that sometime between 1pm and 2.15pm on Tuesday 23rd August a house in the Clontigora Hill area of Newry was entered and a sum of cash and a number of items of jewellery stolen. A blue coloured Audi car was seen leaving the house around 2pm. A blue Audi car, believed to have been involved, was recovered by police later the same day on the Parkview area of Cloughoge. This was taken away for further examination.

July 2016Detectives are investigating a possible link between these two burglaries and are appealing for anyone who saw any suspicious vehicles in the area or anyone with any information that can assist with the investigation to contact them in Ardmore on 101 quoting reference number 686 of 23/08/16. Information can also be passed anonymously via the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 55 111.
