SDLP Newry and Armagh MLA Justin McNulty has expressed his horror at an attack carried out on three people and an infant recently in the Cullyhanna area of County Armagh. The incidents happened at Daisy Hill Hospital in NewrySpeaking to Newry Times, he said, “I’m totally horrified by this vicious attack that left three adults and a child seriously injured. “This vicious assault can never be justified or rationalised and the victims are at a complete loss as to why they were targeted. “I have been told that the victims were at the building site of a new house when they were confronted by three men wielding a shovel and a wheel brace. When their attackers realised that there was a young child in the car, they smashed the windows in showering the infant with glass. “I have spoken to the family who have been left extremely traumatised. An attack like this is beneath contempt and reminds us of the worst days of our past. This community is rightly appalled and we all hope that the PSNI are successful in apprehending those responsible.
