South Down Sinn Féin candidate Caitríona Ruane has welcomed a positive response from Transport NI following calls for additional resources for the A2 road works between Warrenpoint and Rostrevor. road worksSpeaking to Newry Times, Ruane said, “Given the need to have the work completed as early as possible Transport NI have contacted me to say that additional resources have been deployed with the contractor now working from 7am to 9pm. “Disruption to traffic on small roads in the surrounding area is an unfortunate consequence of the ongoing work. “Transport NI have informed me that they may be able to make one lane available to traffic and alleviate some of the issues being experienced on Rath Road and Moygannon Road.
