Work vans targeted by thieves in Rostrevor

Police in Newry are appealing for information after tools were stolen from a number of vans in the Rostrevor area.

rostrevorOvernight between Tuesday, 23rd February and Wednesday, 24th February, builders/trader’s vans were entered in the Rosses Quay, Rosswood Park, Beechfield Park and St Bronach’s Cottages areas of Rostrevor.

A quantity of tools were stolen including drills, grinders and a Stihl saw. Tool boxes were also taken.

An attempt was also made to break into a van in the Slievefoy Place area of Warrenpoint.

Police would like to hear from anyone who has information in relation to these incidents or anyone who is offered items of this nature for sale in suspicious circumstances. They can be contacted on 101, quoting ref: 155 240216.

Remove all items from value from your vehicle and store them securely. You could also consider marking your equipment so that it is more easily identifiable.
