Knife-wielding man threatens staff during Newry armed robbery

Detectives are appealing for witnesses following an armed robbery of a shop in the Abbey Yard area of Newry on Saturday 20th February. psniIt was reported that at approximately 8.30pm an unknown male, carrying a knife, entered a shop in the area and threatened a member of staff before making off with a sum of cash from the till. He is described as being aged in his late 20’s and was wearing light grey track bottoms and a light grey hooded top. Detectives are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone with any information that can assist with the investigation to contact them at Ardmore Police Station on 101. Information can also be passed anonymously via the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
