Possible link between Mayobridge and Hilltown burglaries

Police in Newry are appealing for information following two burglaries. burglary4Sometime between 4.50pm and 5pm on Saturday, 12th december, entry was forced to a house in Hillcrest, Mayobridge. A sum of cash was taken and three males travelling in a blue Vauxhall Vectra were observed in the area. The car drove off in the direction of Newry. In another incident entry was forced to a property in Spelga park, Hilltown between 11am and 6.20pm on Saturday, 12th December. Nothing was taken. A dark blue coloured Vauxhall Vectra was also observed in the area between 4pm and 4.30pm. Speaking to Newry Times, Constable Jill Browne said, “We are investigating a possible link between these two incidents and would like to hear from anyone who witnessed any activity in either area or anyone who has information which may assist our investigation. She added, “We can be contacted in Newry on 101, quoting ref: 961 121215.
