Independent Newry city Councillor Kevin McAteer has called on parking enforcement to be maintained along the Fathom Line after receiving complaints from members of the public about a lack of parking enforcement along the road.

Speaking to Newry Times, the Independent Councillor said, “A few people got in touch with me about cars being parked along the Fathom Line road. “I know that some police cones are already there but I think the cones should be placed further down the road as well as where they are now. “In fact some residents in Coislocha have indicated that cars are now trying to park in their premises. McAteer added, “I just think the enforcement issue needs to be maintained a lot more strictly as some drivers seem to be taking advantage.”
