Cliftonville sign Warrenpoint star Daniel Hughes
Warrenpoint Town striker Daniel Hughes has signed for Belfast club Cliftonville FC.
And the club have confirmed that their striker will transfer immediately upon the opening of the January transfer window.
Manager and club director Barry Gray has expressed his best wishes to Daniel. “It’s a fantastic move for Daniel at this stage of his career. He has developed with us and we always want the best for our players.
“Daniel had a trial with Bolton earlier this year and we always knew that he would attract more interest. We thank him for his work and dedication to Warrenpoint and wish him every success in the future.”
Hughes himself expressed his gratitude to Gray and to the entire club at Warrenpoint. “I have loved every minute of my football at Warrenpoint. They are a fantastic family club and to play at the highest level in local football with my brothers meant a lot. I thank all the fans, the board and my club mates and of course Barry Gray for everything.
“At this stage of my career I need to take a new challenge to progress personally and I feel Cliftonville is the best move,” Hughes added.
The Board issued a statement offering their best wishes to Daniel. Club Chairman Johnny Bird said, “On behalf of Warrenpoint town we would like to wish Daniel all the best. Good luck Daniel!”
