Attempted burglary in Ashton Heights, Newry

Detectives in Newry are appealing for information following an attempted burglary that occurred at a house in the Ashton Heights area of Newry on the evening of Monday 14th December.

psni58At approximately 7pm, a light sensor was smashed at the rear of the property and the back door was forced open, though it is not believed that anyone entered the house.

Police also received a report that a silver Volkswagen Golf was acting suspiciously in the area at around the same time.

Speaking to Newry Times, Detective Sergeant Wallace said, “I would ask anyone with any information about these incidents to contact detectives at Ardmore Police Station on the non emergency number 101.

“Or if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
