SDLP Councillor Gillian Fitzpatrick has condemned those behind a tyre fire in Mayobridge that threatened NIE infrastructure. Mayobridge_FireSpeaking to Newry Times, she said, “I was shocked to see a blazing fire at Chapel Hill in Mayobridge. “Aside from the environmental damage done by setting tyres on fire, this blaze posed a significant risk to nearby electricity poles. “Those behind the fire acted absolutely recklessly and could have caused very serious damage to the community in Mayobridge. She added, “I would encourage anyone with any information on the incident to contact the PSNI as soon as possible.”
