Sinn Féin MLA Conor Murphy has urged residents in the Old Warrenpoint Road area to to be mindful of their own and their neighbour’s security. Old Warrenpoint RoadHis call comes after he said he had a number of reports of suspicious activity in the area including strange people wandering around houses and shining torches in windows. “I would urge people to take whatever precautions they can to protect their property,” he told Newry Times. “I would also ask people to keep an eye out for their neighbours, in particular those who may be more vulnerable. Murphy added, “While protecting your own property is right and proper, it’s only when communities stand together as one that criminality will be defeated.”
