Speaking to Newry Times, Hazzard said, “It is important we develop the shared education sector in a way which meets the demand of a modern education system to deliver the best outcomes for our children. “Shared and Integrated education delivers equality, understanding, respect and cohesion so it is important it is developed in the proper manner. “The Minister John O’Dowd needs to be congratulated in listening to the recommendations of the Education Committee and advisory group and producing such a comprehensive policy,” he insisted. “The work the Minister is carrying out shows the importance of ministers remaining at their desks to provide better outcomes for everyone. Hazzard added, “I look forward to seeing the implementation of the policy into schools across the North so that every school is not only a good school but that it is inclusive as well.”
