Latest toxic waste dumping in Camlough causes anger

South Armagh Councillor Roisin Mulgrew has urged the public to be vigilant and to come forward with any information regarding the ongoing dumping of toxic waste.

Speaking after the discovery of yet another bag of toxic waste dumped in the area, this time in the Ballynalack Road area of Camlough, the Sinn Fein councillor said the actions of dumpers was taking a huge toll on the entire community.

“This illegally dumped waste is costing hundreds of thousands annually and that money could be better spent improving the roads or other facilities in rural area,” she told Newry Times.

“The South Armagh community are entitled to live in a clean, safe environment and I urge anyone with information on this dumping to come forward and for those responsible to stop immediately.”
