Police in Newry are appealing for information following an attempted hijacking on Friday, 20th February.

At around 8pm on Friday night, a black Insignia car pulled up outside the Vivo shop on Talbot Street.

The male driver left the vehicle running and got out. An adult female and two nine year old boys remained inside the car.

“The second male also ran off and he is described as being in his early 30s, of stocky build with a tattoo below his left ear and a shaved head. He was wearing a white t-shirt and black jacket.

She added, “We would like to hear from anyone who witnessed this incident or has information in relation to it. We can be contacted in Ardmore Police Station on 101, quoting ref: 1158 200215.”
